Hey, great to have you with us!

I'm Gary of RePodly, this is a replay of a live coffee tasting I recorded back in October with Paul Burns.
I put his expert taste buds to the test by asking him to lead the tasting blind, he had the exact same pack as you should have in front of you. Here's how we got on!
Brewing up your 3 delicious coffee samples is simple, you either need a cafetière (also called a French Press or "a plunger thing" which you probably have in the back of the cupboard. Failing that a neighbour probably has one… worst case they are a fiver in Morrisons or Sainsbury) or a drip filter, a filter spoon (ours is called Doris and you can find the link at the bottom of the page) or a mocha pot (the nice looking metal pot you see people have on the cooker. Also known as a 'stove top').

What To Expect, and What You'll Need

You'll want 3 cups and to be able to measure out 120ml of hot, not boiling water.

For the 7g of ground coffee in each bag the optimum amount of water is 120ml.

The water shouldn't be boiling at 100º so boil the kettle as we start which should allow a few minutes for the water to cool a few degrees as to not scorch or burn the coffee which will change the way the coffee tastes.

To get the most out of the tasting and pairing you'll also benefit from

Water to cleanse the palate between coffees (sparkling is recommended)

Chocolate of your choice for the pairing

A notepad to make notes of your experience with tasting the coffee

Tasting Expectations

This is a replay of a live tasting, I've rerecorded the start but the rest is how it happened.

We plan on regularly having these tastings as a part of The Coffee Community which will launch in January, with a mystery pack of full sized coffees delivered every quarter and delivered with a passport for you to write down the tasting notes for each coffee!
