GREAT TASTE 2024

Great News for RePodly at The Great Taste Awards 2024
While the summer holidays are in full swing for many of us and Augusts busy heat doesn't naturally lend itself to thinking about coffee unless your're a coffee obsessive like me, this years Great Taste Awards have been announced today which includes the results for our first ever submission.
It was actually a customer at a food show we were attending last summer who couldn't remember the coffee they enjoyed but knew they'd discovered it after seeing the stamp of quality approval that is a Great Taste Award on the label.
As we are a tiny, early stage company we were very lucky to be in the bursary scheme to encourage newer small business producers the chance to submit, a process we recommend if your product is in the acceptable stage of business.
Choosing which coffee to submit to the awards however was a somewhat trickier process as each one is like one of our children, we love them all equally but yet we recognise that they are all different.
We decided on submitting Discovery for it's excellent balance, low acidity and natural sweetness and being an overall superstar to take the spot for the bursary but it had been a close run thing.
After a couple of restless nights wondering if it was the right choice the decision was made to submit 2 more, full priced entry coffees to the awards to cover all the bases. Also submitted were
The GOAT for it's strong, rich and punchy roasted joy and
Ethiopian Mocha Djimma for it's very unique, distinct earthy flavour which gives it a character all of it's own.
We are very proud to reveal that both Discovery and Ethiopian Mocha Djimma have been awarded stars in 2024! To receive any award in the first year of submission is a joy but 2 is another level all together.
Are we disappointed at The GOAT not being awarded a prestigious star this year? Well, that's an interesting rabbit hole to fall down and something for another day, but the review we received for the coffee was very positive and actually causes some confusion with us which has been a hot topic of discussion indeed!
We feel a competition may well be in order soon to see if our social media minded customers can guess the reason given for not beongh awarded a star so I'm not going to reveal the quote here just yet… but it wasn't at all insulting and highlighted one of the things we were going for in its development!
So… check back soon to find out what the reason was!
