So the live Tasting and Q&A session with genius barista Paul Burns will be free, the coffee samples will be free and all you'll need to pay for is the cost of the p&p to be able to brew along with us and taste the differences between the coffees.
We'll be tasting 3 luxury, freshly roasted coffees and at least 1 of them will be Great Taste Award Winning (exciting isn't it?!) but can you sot which one it will be as the tasting and pairing session will be done blind.
No you don't have to wear a blindfold, the coffee label will just show sample 1, 2 or 3.
Paul will take us through some of the characteristics and we'll have a fun time with a live and interactive quiz trying to decide which coffee is which. There will be prizes and rewards along the way too!
As there is lots of information to share and social media has a way of delaying what you see these days (too many posts and not enough time) I have had a think and if you drop your details below we can send you WhatsApp and email at the times that you actually need to see the information.
So that means that when the samples are ready, you'll get a message saying where to get your hands on them. When the live event is a day or so away we'll send a handy reminder and a link to click to log in and see it live (you only need a browser, no apps) and we'll also send out a 'pairing list' to taste along with if you want to experience the world of flavour combinations that comes in Pauls coffee pairing.

Currently we don't know how many samples we will have, we are hoping to make them available to as many people as possible for the "taste along live" session with Paul Burns but what we do know is that numbers are limited.

Dear Coffee lover,
Over the last year or so since the launch of RePodly I've really enjoyed meeting a huge amount of you at live, in person events such as BBC Good Food Show, Thame Food Festival and Bradford on Avon's Food Festival. I plan on doing these shows as much as possible as I love getting your feedback in person to the samples of coffee and the idea of getting super fresh coffee delivered to use in a reusable pod.
The thing that has struck me however is that the vast majority of coffee drinkers don't know what they like, they don't know what makes for a great coffee and definitely don't know how to make a great tasting coffee when at home- which is the sole reason so many reach for the pods as it's all done for you, easy and predictable.
In day to day life those things are useful, but I think given a choice, most people would prefer a small producer coffee over supporting HUGE multinational harbingers of doom. I don't need to spell out who those businesses might be… Dr Chris does an amazing job of doing that in his brilliant book "Ultra Processed People".
With these thoughts wizzing around my brain in a caffeine buzz, I turned to the brilliant, multitalented and ultra friendly barista extraordinaire Paul Burns for his advice on how I could help people get more out of their coffee beans and appreciate what has been delivered to them.
Paul replied that we should do some training and help people.
I think he meant in a 1 off event where we do a zoom meeting for anyone interested in attending to learn some basic barista skills and get better results at home. It'd be a great event but I'm afraid my ADHD brain went more than a few steps ahead of that…
"What if we do a subscription? What if every time the coffee lovers get a delivery we show them live how to get the best out of it and do a live tasting where we pair the coffee with things that show it off to its best? Why don't we deliver tasting and pairing notes that people can use to try for themselves between drops?"
I went on like this excitedly until the subscription became a community where members can share results and pictures, ask questions of us and also help each other out.
That's when he was in. Fully committed and on board.
The most exciting part of this journey of Discovery for me is that we will be on a journey too. All learning something new together and hopefully enjoying ourselves in the process.
Also, because coffee tastes better in company. A solo brew in silence is nice, but I think we all learned in 2020 that we're at our best face to face, chatting about whatever is important to you!
